                      The Oolong Tea Diet

What is Oolong tea - and why is it referred to as diet oolong tea? The answer comes down to antioxidants, but we're not talking about no ordinary common antioxidants, however, any are welcome for the body to function well. This is where it gets interesting. The process of making an Oolong tea is called fermentation, this can take between 1 to 3 hours. The Green tea is not fermented - and it is rich in an antioxidant known as Catechins or EGCG's - these can act as powerful cancer and tumour inhibitors.

Oolong Tea is the KEY to Longevity

The Oolong tea however, started out as a Green tea, but then through the process of fermentation - whereby the leaves are oxidised until they turn slightly red, they are then dried, so what we have now is a partially fermented tea - known as Oolong tea. Oolong tea has half the Catechins of the Green tea, however, during the proces of oxidisation the Oolong tea acquires polyphenols that are polymerized - and are not found in any other tea. This polymerized polyphenols activates the enzyme that dissolves the triglycerides - by way of fat absorbtion. This in turn increases energy levels and boosts the immune system, thus helps you to lose weight and keep you healthy all at the same time.

Free Radicals

The bodies arch enemy - is the dreaded cancer causing free radicals - which self destruct, leading to age relalated illnesses. Oolong teas powerful combination of antioxidants helps elimiante these unwanted cells - without harming your good cells. And finally Black tea, this is fully fermented and has little Catechins and no polymerized polyhenols, however, it makes this up with  Theanine - this is a derivative of an Amino acid. This increases brain Dopamine levels, and at the same time in some cases - it lowers Serotonin, theanine also promotes Alpha Waves in the brain.

 Laxatives?

One thing is for sure - and that is all teas are good for you. Just recently I have seen some internet blogs reporting that Oolong tea is a laxative. Oolong tea is NOT a laxative - and is a completely natural product. There are slimming teas for sale on the internet which contain laxatives, but they are NOT Oolong teas.
